Lesson 7 - Trance Depth

Homework

Go to your White Envelope with Scripts:

Remove the 2 yellow sheets labeled Dave Elman Induction

Remove the 2 blue sheets labeled Hypnosis Depth Testing

Preparation:

• Find a volunteer.
• Get a tabletop or standing floor tripod. I use a $40 tabletop tripod that extends quite high. This doesn’t need to be expensive.
• Video Record your practice session. Just turn it on and go over to your chair.

PROCEED WITH CLIENT PRACTICE

1. Use the Dave Elman Induction with your volunteer client. Sit close enough to easily perform each task.

2. At the end of the induction but BEFORE emerging, go through the blue sheets for Hypnotic Depth testing. Go through all the stages, 1 through 6.

NOTE: You learned that when you really do this with a client, you never go past a challenge that isn’t met. At that point, you’ve discovered what your client is capable of in that particular session. Only for the purpose of this practice, continue through all 6

stages, whether there is a fail or not. This is just to enable you to become familiar with the techniques involved.

3. Emerge after the 6th stage, going back to the Elman sheet to emerge (wording end of script)

4. Still video recording:

a. Ask your volunteer client what was experienced – use the “Response” sheet

b. Talk to your volunteer client about the 6 challenges and ask what they experienced in each stage
